Assistant Principal: Mrs. Kenyatta Anderson

 

Dear Oakland Elementary Families,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I get to be the Assistant Principal of Oakland Elementary School. I am entering my 18th year in education and my 3rd year as an assistant principal here at OKE.  I am honored to serve our amazing OKE Owls and to partner with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue to make Oakland a School on the Rise!

As an educational leader, I believe that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, challenged, and celebrated. One of my favorite parts of working in education is getting to know students and their families. I want our students to know that they have people at Oakland who believe in them, celebrate them, and will always encourage them to keep growing.

As your Assistant Principal, you’ll see me just about everywhere! I’ll be greeting students in the mornings, visiting classrooms, celebrating their accomplishments, supporting teachers, talking with families, and probably giving out plenty of high-fives along the way. I want our Owls to know me not just as an administrator, but as someone who is always in their corner.

Parents and families, you are an important part of our Oakland family, too! I believe that the strongest schools are built when families and educators work together. Please know that I value your voice, your partnership, and the trust you place in us each day. Whether we are celebrating something wonderful or working together through a challenge, my goal is for you to always feel welcomed, heard, and supported.

I am excited about what is ahead for Oakland. We have amazing students, dedicated educators, supportive families, and so many opportunities to grow together.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s journey. I can’t wait to get to know you and your family and to celebrate all the wonderful things our Owls will accomplish this year!
