Dear Oakland Families and Community,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! It is my honor to serve as Principal of Oakland Elementary School, and I could not be more excited about the year ahead for our Owls.

A little about me: I bring 26 years of experience in Title I schools across Georgia, having served as a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator in Atlanta, Clayton, and Henry counties. Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal at Pate's Creek Elementary here in Henry County. Through every role, one thread has remained constant, my belief that relationships drive outcomes. I've seen firsthand that when students feel known, valued, and believed in, they rise to meet every expectation we set for them.

That belief will guide everything we do at Oakland this year. Our work together will center on three priorities:

• Tier 1 Instruction — ensuring every child receives high-quality, grade-level instruction every day, in every classroom.
• Culture and Climate — building a school where students, staff, and families feel a genuine sense of belonging.
• Family and Community Partnerships — strengthening the connections between home and school, because we know our students thrive when families and educators work as a team.

Oakland already has so much to be proud of, and I'm honored to build on that foundation alongside our incredible staff, students, and families. As your principal, my door is always open, and I look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the year.
